Empoli v Roma
Empoli are currently sitting in the relegation zone on the Serie A table having won just one of their first 10 matches of the season (D3, L6). Incredibly, that sole victory remains the only game in which they have managed to find the net in the league this season and they have now played over 11 hours of football since they last scored a goal. Roma, meanwhile, are sitting in second place on the table and they are the top scorers in the division. They have won five of their last six matches in all competitions (D1, L0) and they have scored an impressive total of 19 goals in the process. Roma won 3-1 in both of the meetings between these two sides last season and it would be of little surprise to see a similar outcome this Sunday.
Nice v Nantes
Nice are three points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with a game in hand on their nearest rivals. They have won 10 of their last 12 league matches (D2, L0) and they are seeking a sixth successive win. They have also won 10 of their last 11 at home (D1, L0), scoring a total of 25 goals in the process and conceding just five. While Nice finished last season just two points behind the runners-up, Nantes were 10 positions and 15 points behind. Nantes followed that with a poor start to the new season, collecting just five points from a possible 21 in their first seven league games. They have secured a couple of wins since, which perhaps explains the generous odds of even money for a home win on Sunday, but Nantes lost 2-1 at home in their last league outing and the value appears to lie with the in-form Nice this weekend.
Koln v Hamburg
Koln have lost just one of their last 15 matches in all competitions and they have won four of their five home game this season (D1, L0). A win on Sunday would lift them into the top four on the Bundesliga table. Koln forward Anthony Modeste has scored an impressive total of eight goals in his last seven appearances for the club and he will fancy his chances of extending that record against bottom-of-the-league Hamburg. Hamburg have lost six of their eight Bundesliga matches this season (W0, D2), scoring a total of just two goals along the way. They have now played almost seven hours of football since they last registered a goal in the league and they are odds-on for relegation this term.
